Photo of Dia graduate student at CUNY, The Graduate Center (GC). They are also a GC Digital Initiatives’ Digital Fellow. Broadly, their work is on understanding the relationality between systems of oppression (e.g. racism, homo-|trans-phobia) and the individual. More specifically, they are interested in the ways gender and sexuality is performed, understood, and enforced, and the ties between transnationalism and diasporas, alongside the histories and presence of modernity/colonialism/(de)coloniality (interview with Walsh & Mignolo describing this). Outside of academia, they are busy with creating a digital webspace for queer|trans|gnc Asians in North America and exploring the binaries that seem to divide academic work production and creative work.
